This morning i was woken by my dearest father to proceed to IDAC to file the report regarding the unfortunate accident on 4th july. Waking up at 9 seems decent to most young folks but judging from the time i fell asleep, i beg to differ. The whole day went past in a daze complete with misty vision and intriguing images from my dreams... i think lacking of sleep makes me stupid.
Today is the death anniversary of my grandpere. It has been 16 years since i last saw him. He left a vague impression on me, then a young boy at a tender age of four. All i could recall was that we sat on the living room floor playing lego together. Dressed in the familiar blue stripped pyjamas and white singlet, he would praised whatever i made. Sometimes i wonder if these memories are formed from the pictures i saw or the experience i went through. Probably a little of both but i know he was a man worthy of my upmost respect.
The "celebration" was rather simple, a few dishes and nothing else. Nobody turned up at my grandma's place beside my family. My auntie who resides with her made the vegetarian dishes. A simple spread tagged with great meaning. Remembrance was nothing more than a small wooden tablet but all of us felt his presence. Welcome home grandpere...
Right, time to change the mood alittle considering my rest immediately after this. I have made blogging my favourite bedtime hobby in an attempt to capture all that had happened. Hopefully it works, not that i can blog ALL that happened or ALL that i want to say, but the least i could do was to inject bits and pieces here and there.
My family left me alone after the lunch at my grandmama's place. Mum and dad went off to a romantic date which they had kindly excluded me during the planning stage. Karaoke in the afternoon followed by dinner upon some cruise. The meal didnt come cheap and if not for that darn voucher, i am pretty sure they wont have boarded the viking. Behold! the great surprise waits to be reveiled... the rather "romantic" date had a pleasant unexpected. Today was the first NDP rehearsal and the cruise happened to withness the fireworks display by the river. However, this aint the great surprise... in fact, my mum went on the cruise and felt sea sick 3 mouthfuls into the meal. The fireworks came and went as she laid her weary head on my dad's "not so broad" shoulders after the puking. Wad a spoiler...nonetheless i suspect the existence of lingering romance between these two old people. hee hee
If you think a great surprise a day is enough to keep the doctor away, wait till you hear this, I found out this afternoon that my SISTER has got herself a BOYFRIEND! She is halfway through her teens and!!!...haiz. I was actually looking for a long ruler when i came across a photo album while ransacking her drawer. Curiosity directed my fingers to flip the pages one by one, revealing lovely photos of her alternating with this young chap and eventually ending with couple shots (posed with that punk's hand lurking around my sister's collar bone). Shocked as i was forced to accept the fact that my sis has grown up. Alittle too fast for me to comprehend. Anyway, clues of her being attached were screaming at me as i entered the room. Clothes were spread out on the bed indicating that she tried a few sets before settling on the ever ugly costume she wore to meet him. Moreover, i did a test this evening. Confident of her company, i asked her out for dinner using my parents' cruise dinner as an excuse. To my horror, she has forsaken me for love. She chose to watch some dumb movie with him instead of dining with her own brother! haha...i smiled to myself...retributioN!
I wished i've grown up alittle faster, got my thinking sorted out alittle earlier. Would have avoided all the broken hearts... i sincerely admire and envy those lucky ones who struck bingo on first try. Wonder when it's my turn...
