In the papers a few days ago, an engineer set up a tuition agency with this financial excutive to verify the qualifications of private tutors. I wonder who in the world came up with the relationship between teaching abilities and qualifications. Alot of parents demand for degrees and other certificates when their children are in primary level. Weird eh? I think they are mad. Well...WAKE UP WAKE UP!!! If qualifications DO have a cause and effect relation with teaching abilities... then all tertiary students must benefit from their profs. Come on... we know some profs cant teach for nuts. We are not saying they know NOTHING. infact we all acknowledge their storage of knowledge underneath that shiny skull of theirs but the ability to make a student understand wat's in there is a totally different story. Moreover, many degree holders and other kinds of graduates have little or no understanding of the REVISED, supposedly lighter load and more emphasis on creativity syllabus. argh... lucky for me, i have walking advertisments... but that's all for this year. I have to start looking for students come 2005... iiiiiiiiiiiiiirritating.
Les Choristes... is that how u spell it? The choir boys. i caught half the movie due to serious traffic jams in orchard last sat. Reached cine in time but the indian security guard waved frantically to signal that there were not more space in the huge carpark. Not that i can see his hand movements in the dark but the shiny fingernails proved useful with some reflections. Anyway, i made large u-turns, half the time waiting for the car infront to start moving. Came to paragon... FULL again. there was already a queue when i reached. So i left and headed for taka. missed the turning and went to Hereens. Got a space there after 5 minutes of waiting. The show started at 750pm and we reached at 830pm... haha the last time i went late for Garfield with my darling was haha...the same time toO! the show started at 8pm and she arrived at 830pm! hmmm... looks like we are cultivating this habbit of missing half the shows. lalala anyway it was really nice. Just that the title should have been The Choir Girls. =) the boy sang like a sop! his voice was so crystal clear...so bright... so brilliant! better than erm. nevermind. The soundtrack is out of stock! HMV, Tower Records, Sembawang... and i managed to get THE last copy from music junction. Tampinese, parkway, causeway point...all out. left ONE piece at Plaza Sing... muahahahah and i managed to get it!!! =) i AM the man.
Had my first microeconomics lesson yesterday. The lecturer is Ms Loh Soo Fun, a MALAYSIAN girl currently taking PhD with NUS and a teaching assisstant in SMU. Great... we got a student teaching the lecture proper. Worst still, she cant speak properlY! when she went " butter A is butter than butter B and butter B is better than butter C so butter A is butter than butter C, this is the law of transity" ... i dropped my jaw and went "huh?" it turned out to be " bundle A is better than bundle B which is better than bundle C, this is the law of transitivity". She speaks as clear as jack neo...or zoe tay...aiyah. all the same. Anyway, at the end of the lesson, i realised i cannot skip any of her lessons cause my foundations for micro econs is that poor that i need all the help i can get. argh...
