Time to ban smoking in pubs
I always thought it was implemented until last friday when i visited walas. Actually, the problem is not as serious as it seems, however, it needs our immediate attention nonetheless. If one observed carefully, one might be able to see how the smokers were behaving in the pubs...they blow the smoke upwards instead of "in your face". Though that doesn't directly removes the smoke, it does elevate the problem right? So dun be so gei gao over the smoke lah.
Despite saying these, I do support the movement to ban smoking in pubs and coffeeshops. It would be more of an ideal state than anything else given the present response from the "general public". I believe the movement will eventually yield higher returns for the entertainment industry because
1. i DON'T believe this ban which is only valid IN the pubs will deter any of the hardcore/regular chiongsters from patronising the alcohol houses.
2. The ban will attract more borderline customers who are gei gao about passive smoking but not about the alcohol and loud music to visit the pubs just for the sake of hanging out. This directly increases the market share which means profit generated in the short run.
so i say, BAN smoking in pubs and coffeeshops. (i dun think i said anything about coffee shops...but ban them anyway so i can have my fav kopi O in peace). btw. if anyone doesn't know how to spell the word "Fie-nell-li", you go watch the replay of Liverpool-Everton match.

WE"VE WON. Despite the injuries, despite the man sent off, WE'VE WON. Someone off load baros. He sucks. i rather have Alan smith here than letting him sit on the bench over at stinky united.

err, actually channel U interviewd a pub which supportd the ban smoking campaign already...
Initially biz increased by 10%. subsequently, dropped by 30-40%...so i think smokers do choose locations to SMOKE instead of juz loud music and alcohol!!
The pub has decided to switch back to a smoking pub. (after 6months of smoke-free status)
that's so sad!!!
let's boycott pubs!!!
but if it was a nation wide ban, the smokers would have no alternatives
today's paper said they polled the "public" and the result was that about more than half was against the ban
