Vulgar Perth
Watched Perth with Mr Ang yesterday and left the cinema head full of things. It was a departure quickened by the high parking fees and AKM's incessant office calls that made things worse. Normally i would at least talk to him about the show but this time round, i was left thinking alone. Nothing much came up yesterday as the show ended in a rather bloody fashion. It was only during my boring lectures today that i started thinking about the movie.
The first thing that struck me was motivation. It makes sense because i was in an organisational behaviour lecture that this came naturally... Anyway, cutting away the humour and details, there was a part of the show where Angry Boy Lee (AB Lee) instructed Harry (played by Lim Kay Tong) to bring the prostitute to shopping after she was beaten up by some clients. AB Lee said in hokkien "if wanna be a boss also must be a good boss right. Sometimes we just have to be sensitive..." It was an intricate part of human nature to use monetary/material rewards to boast the moral of our fellow workers. This is so evident even in the lower strata of the society... how amazing. Of course, all these thoughts did couple my reflection on those views aired over 93.8 Live... okie, i'm being boring here.

My sincere apologies to all those i've offended yet it is the this point about not able to openly express your thoughts on...nevermind. Anyway, I got the tutorials that i wanted today! It was a wonderful experience! Manual swaps...haha. I went into the office and tried acting cute to the CORS officer. She was having her lunch and the conversation went
"can i err...change my tutorials...yesterday i..."
"matric no?"

"change to wad?"
"monday 10a,-11am"
"okie done."
And she constantly had that i-am-eating-my-nasi-lemak-so-pls-leave-me-alone tone. I thanked her and got out immediately. WOoHOO!!!! haha. I have my wednesdays free now.
Next, let's move on to a more interesting topic - Sex education. Society has yet to evolve (and i seriously doubt it will ever...) itself as it constantly stick sex and all related items in the realm of "dirty". I don't know who started it but it certainly makes no sense to take on the perspective that sex is "dirty". I mean, it can get kind of messy at times but certainly it is not "bad" or "unmentionable". Generations after generations simply categorised sex and all others relating to it with "You-Know-Who" in Hairy Potter. Why can't we talk about it openly?
Will some kind souls then explain to me why vulgarities are usually "sex-related"? Common vulgarities like "f*cK" or "motherf*cker* have their distant relatives in hokkien: "Kan" or "KNN". Alright, perhaps the latter makes some sense (in plain english, i'm asking you to kindly have a relationship with your mother, like incest...) but other words like a person's genitals are widely used to scold people. I mean, what's up with that?
The root of modern sex education problems in our oriental society can be clearly seen in the above. It's rather hard for parents to sit down with their child in the past and tell them about genitals. Almost all the terminology are vulgar words!!!
I don't have a solution to the problem. Actually, i don't particularly see what's wrong... i crawled out of my mother's womb.

Magic Trick
This uncle was trying to sell some "snake oil" which is supposed to be some miracle chinese medicine. He performed magic tricks to entertain and attract the crowd before marketing his products.
I'm posting my titles here so that people who do see them might think it's more convinient to post their comments on the pictures.
Anyway, thanks yc for the comment yesterday. I should have seen it coming, which explains why i junked it in the first place. Perhaps i was getting too desperate to find photos to post.
