International Friendship

I must tell the story of this new friend i just met, it will probably serve as a major encouragment for me in future.

Her name is Toe and she just came over from Myanmar/Burma to further her studies. Since young, (bout 10 years ago), both her parents passed away, leaving the four siblings to fend for themselves. At the tender age of 15, she started taking part time jobs together with her sisters and supported the family through its toughest times. It was amazing how the siblings held on together and braved new challenges. Today, Toe is reading her Master degree in NUS (Electrical Engineering) and her siblings are studying in Myanmar; one a medical undergrad, one a pharmaceutical undergrad and the only boy in high school. The two university sisters are giving part time tuition to pay off their course fees and living expenses.

I'm so ashame of myself. My parents provide for me so much and i've taken all for granted. I always thought i had plenty of tough obstacles in my life, now i think they're NOTHING compared to Toe's.

Take some time to reflect my friends.
