11 - 1 Was the scoreline today... It certainly didn't feel good at all and especially so when i felt that i ran much more than i did for the past two big field matches. A few sliding tackles to their wingers and several heavy knocks frrom their massive midfielders left me some bruises which i didn't notice. Legs are really tired but i thought we could have fought on. Let me do my own post game analysis.

1. Our midfield positioning was really terrible as compared to the other team. E.g. the opposition had tonnes of support whenever we corner the ball into their flanks while I usually can hardly find anyone to pass the ball to. There are always some red shirts between me and the other midfielders which usually makes passing difficult. Tried hooking the ball up into the air but they are the ones first to the pass and not my own teammates.

2. Our wingers are not tough enough. Too many times did we run down the flanks only for their left and right backs to tussle/pushed off the ball. This is evident in the way "jimmy" tumbled everytime he tried to deliver a cross. Only my hero shunk could fend off the on coming defenders to make the assist of the day.

3. There is serious lacking in midfield passing. We had no linking from midfield attack except the rare occasions of through pass which our attacking midfielders (note. not strikers) kok hoo and sometimes aaron had trouble chasing. Most of our weak attempts involve useless running down the flanks.

4. Central midfielders aka me for the second half was not in position half the time. I realised that the flanks should be handled by the wingers or left right backs. Having a CM chasing the ball to the wings is like playing monkey with the rest of the oppsition. On many occasions that i tried to pressure their wingers, they push the ball around to the centre of the field (which i was suppose to guard) and waited till i exhausted my energy (which was darn quick today) before making perfect timing passes to their ready-to-go strikers. I did thought of not chasing the ball but that would entail taking the risk of letting them have all the time in the world to make their passes. =(

5. i dun know what else to say. Our presence was not felt on the field. All i see was red shirts around me. Everytime we kick off the ball, before i could pass back, the red army crushed me, "zham" my shin and then the ball was played into my own penalty box. !! haiz. I need to get stronger!

OKie. so much for soccer, time to hit the books again. Today shall be... Savings, Investment opportunities and the factor market!

btw, can any of you guess what's this?
